The Big Ultrasound - Part 2

This week I went in for the follow-up to the last ultrasound. If you recall Baby B was a little hyped up because his mom gave him o.j. but this time he was less jumpy and the technician was able to capture clear shots of his perfect little four chambered heart.
Here is a darn cute profile shot of Baby B.
I'd assumed up till now that when I don't feel them moving they must be sleeping but that is obviously not the case! The technician said that although it looks like they still have a little space they're basically right up in each other's business. At one point somebody's tush was in the other's face. It looks like an arms and legs free-for-all in there. But overall they seem to really like being snuggled up together.

A little hello from Baby A.

Thankfully they're growing at almost identical rates weighing in at 1lb 9oz and 1lb 10oz. :)

Belly button!

Do these babies make my butt look big?

New fave item: This body pillow a.k.a. Valentino could very well have saved my life. Of course it's like having a third person in the bed with you but G is learning to accept it. :)

New fave pastime: G is very excited about the babies listening to great classical pieces while still in the womb. Here, they're listening to Mozart, Symphony No. 29. I think they're into it.

A "Keep it to Yourself" Example

I started taking a yoga class downtown on Tues and Thurs and I love it. It's not the hard-core workout I was used to back when I practiced yoga for a year - this is a "restorative" class which means that there's a whole lot of laying down, sitting, and stretching, and the average age in my class is like 62 so needless to say I'm the novelty pregnant girl.

So after class yesterday I was talking to a few nice older ladies about the fact I'm having twins, when my due date is, etc. and this nice 50-ish man joins in. He asks if I know Lara who is an instructor there and who is due to give birth any day now. I tell him that I know Lara really well but that I haven't yet seen her pregnant. He says to me, "Well, she's about half your size but you're carrying twins."

Ok....um, this is an example of a comment you just don't say out loud. Especially to the pregnant woman who still has some 2 and half months to go. But it's okay, I in my enlightened yoga awareness have forgiven him. Well, kind of.

We had a nice Valentine's Day (the last one as just the two of us) complete with flowers, red velvet cupcakes and a steak dinner made especially by G. It's probably the last quiet Valentine's Day we'll have in a loooong time. :)

Bedding!

After finding page after page of "modern" crib bedding for millionaires only, I searched Target.com and what do you know, Dwell Studio had made some darn cute bedding for like 1/13 of the cost of their millionaire line. I found these Circle Bedding Sets on clearance!
P.S. I was too excited/lazy to wash and iron the sheets and bed skirt for a pristine picture but just pretend I did.

I was pretty ecstatic with how perfectly the bedding meshed with the rug!

Weekend with the Parents

My parents came this weekend for a "working" visit - they claim all in the interest of their two grandchildren soon to be arriving. (This is not exactly true as they've helped us do a million projects on our house way before grand kids were on the horizon - they're just over-the-top excited.) My dad and G finished a long awaited project of putting up a trellis so we could enjoy some lavendar trumpet vines rather than our neighbor's perpetually dead lawn. It gave our front yard an instant face lift. Thanks for helping, Dad!

*Note the ingenious way they avoided cutting off a major orange tree limb and letting it seemingly grow through the trellis.

Meanwhile my mom made herself useful cleaning my kitchen sink, sweeping the porch, raking leaves, and making homemade tangerine juice. Thanks, Mom! Can't wait till you come stay with us after the boys arrive! :)

Clemie took on the job as project manager so I was left with "food-maker and picture taker" although there are no pictures to prove this.

22 Weeks

This past week has been the first time I've felt definite little kicks and one huge karate chop yesterday that took me by surprise. It's awesome being able to feel them moving around and luckily G has been able to catch some too!

Current favorite article of clothing: dresses!! (thanks, Priscilla)

Current cravings: Homemade nachos and Buttermilk Sugar Cookies (thanks for the recipe, Esther!)
