Birthday at the Zoo

On the boys' birthday we took them to the local zoo called CALM (California Living Museum.) In the nine and half years Gary and I have lived here we've never been - sometimes it takes having kids to get you to go to new places. (Ain't that the truth!) This establishment is really awesome in that it only houses injured animals or animals who cannot survive in their native environment. We saw the black bear exhibit, the bird of prey exhibit with hawks, owls and eagles, a mammal round that houses bobcats, a cove of foxes and coyotes, a deer yard, an underground reptile house, and a mini-farm area with domestic animals. We even got to meet a Harris Hawk up close along with a tortoise and a chuckwalla! And with all these cool animals we saw what did the boys like the best?... the playground of course.

Birthday Party!

While the boys don't turn two until the 20th we celebrated at our house with family and dear friends this past Saturday - there was lots of laughing, running around the yard, bubble blowing, playdoh sculpting, presents and homemade ice-cream!
